the spontaneity of the whole thing was beautiful enough. it was beautiful. i mean. the city is this ugly place. but things just fit right. and the idea that we just went there.
it was
pretty strange. the city. deltron 3030 blaring. we saw the bad traffic. felt the potholes.
there were still people out at clubs.
but the city does sleep.
there was a homeless man who did an impersonation of the
comedian rodney dangerfield.
and. we walked around. timesquare was pretty empty and full of trash at sunrise. it was very cold. it was all very dream like. i was with joanna ^_^ there was a guy in a cafe we went to that was in richmond, va three weeks ago. it's just neat how these coincidences work.
we went to central park.
there were many people walking their pretty dogs. there were kids ice skating. we were going to as well.
we didn't have much money. i didn't have any money at all.
i feel bad for joanna sometimes because i look like a homeless person. like. if you saw me sitting against a wall in new york , you'd think i was homeless.
i walked around the park with joanna some and we took pictures.
we slept a little at another cafe where i got a blueberry muffin.
and then we went on the subway train to sleep.
isn't that nice. i thought sleeping next to joanna on
my bed was the nicest. but i like sleeping next to her on a new york subway train seat. the colours are all orange yellow and brown.
we then went to some nice shops. like toys r' us. you know the steven spielberg movie "E.T." at the toy store there was a robot of him that talked. and a statue of the terminator and a life size robot of a TYRANOSAURUS REX. maybe one day i will send you a tape of all the things i videotaped. it was sooo unreal.
timesquare in the day had many people. there was guy playing guitar in only his underwear and a cowboy hat! it had to have been like 38F or 3-7 celcius. we took pictures with him.
there were also some kids and a man breakdancing for money.
then more shopping.
later, ryan, luke, brianna and courtney went back in their car.
so. i was with joanna. leslie was there too. but. yeah. i was in new york city. with joanna.
so. they went to fabric stores while i video taped people and played guitar. i met a man who came from africa. we talked. he has a wife in two kids in africa. he goes back every once in a while. he loves home. but he also loves new york!
later. we went to timesquare again at night. there were so many people! and the lights were fabulous. maybe it's like tokyo. i like both cities. but there i video taped from the middle of the place. video of joanna. people. things. cars. busses. and i played guitar and sang some.
we rode the subway train back to the car after getting lost a little. leslie asked a stupid question. "what the hell are all these people doing on the subway?"
i thought. "people live in new york. when in new york city it is stupid to ask yourself what are all these people doing here. it's better to ask yourself what are you doing here."
we left the city through the beautiful streets of brooklyn.
i do not miss new york like i miss japan.
we slept at a rest stop for a bit and i got some coffee. and i drove 4 hours home. then joanna drove. luckily leslie slept a lot.
we got home at 5:30 am. i didn't want to sleep alone that night. unfortunately, i had to. joanna had to shower and sleep. but it was OK.
it was all like a dream
because the whole time
we were half awake.
