To know a machine is to have reached your hands inside the oily, metal innards of it. It is to have fixed a problem with the machine and then find out theres a new one only to find out there never was a problem to begin with. To know a machine is to have sat on a curb in the middle of somewhere and say Why the hell? The week spent on the road "that way" contained few moments of human entanglement. Ren showed no sympathy or regret. The week he spent on the road, he spent alone. A moped is the vehicle of a loner. Motorcycles ride in gangs, cars carry groups, kids rollerskate together. The simple one-cylinder engine of a moped can barely carry a 141 pound passenger. |
