Blogathon 2006
Whoa Oh
Whoa oh, we're half way there. Whoa oh living on a prayer. That's right, we're half way through Blogathon, assuming I know math. We started at 9AM, and now it's 9PM, so that's 12 hours. 12 more hours to go.
Lefty Lucy
If I really were to become a hip hop star and have my nickname be Dirty Southpaw, then my hip hop girlfriend's nickname would be Lefty Lucy. She would also be a southpaw of course. I got no love for righty.
Nerd talk: I'm dumb. A few days ago I scheduled chkdsk to scan my hard drive on the next restart. Since I leave my computer on all the time, it hadn't ran yet. But then today Firefox was starting to get a little slow so I restarted, but I forgot about the scheduled chkdsk. It's still running. So now I'm posting from another computer. Hopefully chkdsk will be done by the next posting time.
Acid drool
I think I'm going to take the sheets off of my bed and pile lots of junk on top of it. That will keep me from trying to get in it. But then when I'm really tired at 9AM tomorrow I'll have to gather enough energy to clean my bed off. I need to take my old bed sheets off anyway. I got some new bed sheets. They were on sale and they're my first white bed sheets. Maybe it'll brighten up my room and my day.
On a more gross note, my black pillowcases show off my drool spots and everyone can see them. Hopefully they won't show up on white pillowcases, even though they're still there. At least people will stop asking. Drool is apparently like acid to black pillowcases. The color comes right off. Seriously, does anyone else have this problem?
Public Service Announcement
On the UCS site I found this link to Practical Driving Tips. They have some tips for your car that will help reduce its environmental impact. I think it's some easy stuff, and most of the tips will help your car and wallet out too. Maybe I'll highlight some other good UCS pages later on.
UCS is the Union of Concerned Scientists, and that's who we're blogging for today during the Blogathon.
The Future.
It's probably in your best interest to buy sunscreen... like 1,000,000 spf sunscreen. I just have this feeling... not like a Nostradamus feeling or an End of Days feeling but more like a Jules Verne "Of course one day space flight will happen" kinda feeling.
The worse thing about the end of human civilization is we're not too close to perfecting artificial intelligence, which, if you know me, you know I believe that AI is the key to preserving humankind in a world that is either going to be do destroyed from global environmental collapse, a nuclear holocaust or both.
I suppose it's all for the better. There are no more good movies coming out it seems, or good music, I dunno, maybe we're just in the middle of some post-post-modern funk and someone or someones will make something so great it'll convice the rest of the world to hold off World War III and global warming so we can enjoy it for a while.
